MEET DR.ROBIN

Life

I was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia where I attended and graduated from Warwick High School.  My younger days were filled with track and field as well as my love for playing the flute.  I always felt the need to give and do my best at whatever I set my mind to do.  I loved to read, get good grades and share what I had learned in order to help others. My younger years was filled with challenges and one of my earliest memories of lost was when my sister passed away, she was seven and I was six. I vividly recall the night after her passing, I was in the bedroom we had shared and an angel came to visit me and tell me that my sister was in heaven and would forever watch over me and God would guide me.  From that moment on, I would talk with God and although there were other tough years ahead the presence of God was always with me.

Ministry

I am a licensed and ordained Evangelist.  I was licensed and ordained with the Church of God in Christ and the City of Refuge Christian Church of Hawaii.  I currently travel and minister the Word of God. I have been anointed, appointed, and equipped by God to fulfill the Great Commission. Throughout my years in ministry, I have proven to be a faithful and dedicated servant, gifted at serving behind the scenes as well as supervising and directing the execution of the vision of any endeavor. I do not share this in a boastful manner but realizing I am only who I am by the Grace of God.

My passion for ministry is two-fold: spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to the lost and seeing the saints experience victorious Kingdom Living. My life experiences have fueled a passion to set the captives free.  I am intimately acquainted with the challenges of life.  I accepted Jesus as my Personal Savior while in South Carolina on Military Assignment as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.  My church home at the time was Ecclesia Church of God In Christ.  This ministry is where God revealed His purpose for me.  I received the gift of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and I learned and was taught by wise men and women of God.  I learned and applied the scriptures to my life that if I remain humble before God, He would exalt me in due time.  Prior to my leaving South Carolina and rotating, I accepted my call to preach and ministered my first sermon.  The power of God was so strong that the foyer light busted in the back of the church and there were men, women, boys and girls filled with the Holy Spirit.  That was the first time I experienced the Power of the Holy Spirit manifested through me as I yielded to His voice and leading.

Service

I transferred to Korea in 1996 and fellowshipped at Solid Rock Church of God in Christ, Tongduchon Korea under the leadership of Pastor, Elder Douglas D. Macklin, Sr. Licensed as an Evangelist under the Church of God in Christ on December 1, 1996. While in Korea, it was my wilderness experience where I was in continual consecration with God.  I learned to hear God’s voice and heed even more to the Power of the Holy Spirit in my life.  I had the wonderful opportunity to minister up and down the Republic of Korea and witness the Power of the Holy Spirt manifested in ways that I had never seen before.  The entire ministry was blessed with so many powerful manifestations of which are too many to name.  Souls were saved, set free, delivered and filled with the Power of the Holy Spirit.  There was a hospital below the church and once the church was established the hospital eventually had to close it doors because people were being healed and there was not enough sick people to keep that hospital running.  We truly saw the miracles of God during this time.

Upon return to the United States, I worked at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Pennsylvania in the Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) Department as an Human Resource Officer and Instructor.  Fellowshipped with two ministries, Faith Temple Church of God in Christ and Congregational Church of God in Christ.

My Family and I transferred to Hawaii and we desired to fellowship at a Church of God in Christ but before I left the mainland my Pastor spoke a word to me “to not get caught up in denomination, but go wherever God leads me.”  I attended Prayer Center Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Paul L. Martin for a short time and eventually started attending the City of Refuge Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Wayne E. Anderson.  I served there for over 18 years.  I currently travel building ministries and the Lord has allowed me to birth Evangelist Robin Sherrod Deliverance Ministries.

Family

I have two wonderful and blessed sons, Adrian and Marques.  I am truly thankful to God for all the doors He has opened and the opportunities my family and I have been blessed with.  My every day prayer is that I continue to allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me.  I stand on the scripture in John 9:4 “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”
